Just in time for Christmas comes the good news that Google is releasing two new AdWords reports –  designed specifically to help increase your store visits! So what are they, and how will they help your business? Let’s dive in!

AdWords’ Distance Reporting

With this report, you can track store visits based on how geographically close people are to your business when they begin their initial searches. The beauty of this, is that you can then target your advertising to those particular areas where your store visits appear highest. For example, let’s say that the majority of searches for your business are coming from people in a 10km radius of the CBD? You could then target those specific suburbs. As suggested by Google, ‘You could then set higher bids for nearby consumers and show them specialized ads like “get up to 50% off in-store with holiday doorbuster deals until noon!”’

At present, Distance Reporting is available for search campaigns but should be rolling out across their shopping campaigns in the near future.

Store Visits Performance Reporting

Also being released is Google’s new Store Visit Performance Reporting. Although also based on geographical locations, this report will track which areas are driving the highest number of ad clicks resulting in a store visit. The beauty of this feature, is that it gives advertisers valuable insight into where they should be spending their money, and focusing their ads. For example, if your business is in Narrabeen (Sydney) and you’re currently targeting customers in Dee Why and Warriewood, but the majority of your clicks are coming from the latter, you may decide it’s worth increasing your budget in that area. It’s extremely helpful for businesses!

You can discover more about both of these reports via Google’s announcement. If you’re ready to start trialling them for yourself, simply head to the ‘Dimensions’ (Distance Reports) and ‘Location’ tabs (Store Visit Reports)!
